The Engineers
Revolution Mastering engineering team
Nick Bennett - Mastering
Nicks Engineering career started in 1995 when he trained in Live Sound under Gerard Albo.He quickly moved through the ranks and was in house engineer at The Rhythmic in Islington, then at Manatiy's Jazz club Camden, as well as engineering in places such as Ronnie Scott's and right across the Camden rock scene for numerous bands & jazz artists.
1997 saw Nick's first proper studio job, assisting at EMI Publishing's studios in Rathbone Place for a wide range of their signed bands & writers. Here, he honed his skills for recording, mic technique, tracking to tape (pro tools hadn't quite caught on yet!), and mixing.
With the experience and confidence to start producing his own material, he met up with the other members of the band Afro Medusa and went on to score a no.1 record in the American billboard chart as well as numerous top 10 positions worldwide with their club anthem 'Pasilda'. This led to a two year round the world stopgap tour and took in the dance scene's major super clubs, leading outdoor festivals and arena shows.
During this time he also signed publishing & recording deals with Edel, Warner Chappell, Azuli, Ministry of Sound, Tommy Boy & XL Talent and was also playing bass & guitars for AKA (signed to More Protein), whose album debut 'Pigoenomics' was well received (NME single of the week for "You've been Sold"), Reading & Leeds festival etc...
His mastering career began in 2000 when he trained under the watchful eye of Sean Davis in the art & science of disk cutting on the trusty Neumann VMS70 from CTS studios in Wembley and also at George Peckham's legendary Porky's in Shaftsbury Avenue. From then until 2009 he was in house cutting & mastering Engineer at Liquid Mastering in North London. During his 9 years there built his career in vinyl & cd mastering and produced thousands of cuts for a huge range of producers, labels & record companies and also gained valuable insight into the whole vinyl manufacturing process, from cutting through galvanics to pressing.
2009 saw Nick set up Revolution Mastering.
He has built a truly world class facility in a purpose built studio and is currently turning out hi resolution work for a wide range of artists, producers, labels & records companies.
"It was a case of hit the ground running when we opened the doors but thankfully the settling in period was short, and from day 1 we were getting exceptional results."
Client feedback has been very positive and word has spread fast. As a result, work has started on a second room to handle digital mastering sessions (ie. non vinyl) to accommodate the in flux of bookings.
